Normally, orange juice is not recommended for diabetics because it has more sugar content than that of apples and some fruits recommended for diabetics. However, it is not totally prohibited to take some orange. So here’s an Orange Sherbet for diabetics.

1 c. orange juice
1 tsp. unflavored gelatin (1/3 envelope)
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
nonnutritive sweetener equal to 1/2 cup sugar (you can use Stevia)
1/2 c. nonfat dry milk powder

Mix all ingredients together until well blended.

NOTE: This 1/2 cup of sugar is a lot of sugar that is why you need to use a non-nutritive sweetener instead. There are several sweeteners in the market, and I recommend Stevia.
