Health benefits of apples can definitely give a boost to your immune system. This is why there is an old saying: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. This old adage is commonly heard from anybody or often posted on doctor’s clinic to emphasize that apple has a high health benefits in individual. Though research have already proven the good benefits of apple to people who daily eat it, there are still more benefits of this healthy fruit than what we think.

- Apples has a low glycemic index carbohydrates that is less likely to spike blood sugar when eaten in reasonable portions (three fruit servings per day).
- It contains Vitamin B1 that prevents brain cell damage during diabetic acidosis.
- Apples are rich in antioxidant and phenolic compounds that help decrease the incidence of cell damage due to oxidative byproducts of cell metabolism and which also contribute to heart disease.
This great fruit is also good for the following:
- Chewing apples stimulates high production of saliva that reduces tooth decay and lowers the level of bacteria.
- Helps limit the occurrence of some kind of cancer, such as liver, colon and breast cancer according to the researchers of Cornell University.
- Treatment in dysentery and gout.
- The person who is fun of eating apples is 10 – 15 percent less likely to develop cataracts.
